To an outsider Lily has what seems to be the perfect life. She has a figure to die for that she will probably never loose, she has an amazing job working for a fashion magazine and a brilliant group of girlfriends who are always there for each other. The other thing is that she is a succubus, in other words she is an immortal demon who gets her powers from men’s pleasure. Lily knows that working for the Devil does definitely have its fair share perks; it can also be quite a lonely existence.
Lily would love to wake up one morning to a real man and not a pile of ashes but she is contractually bound by Satan, Lily will only be released from this hell when or if she finds a man that truly loves her. When the gorgeously handsome PI Nathan Coleman comes into her life, Lily starts to wonder if this might just be the man she’s been waiting all this time for. Nathan wants to ask her some questions about a man that went missing, but all of a sudden someone wants Lily dead and she thinks that Nathan knows more than he’s letting on.

Lynn Grabhorn was raised in Short Hills, New York. She began her working life in advertising. She has always had an interest in the way in which thought and feelings affect our lives.
In this book Lynn tells us in her own witty way how by just feeling something we can attract it into our lives. It might sound like a very simple technique but so many of us are prone to negative thinking patterns that it is really quite hard to change our behaviours. Lynn tells us why most of our dreams have never come to fruition. Why we all feel like we should be getting more out of life but we continue to attract more of the same; empty bank accounts, failed relationships, failing health and all the other things that we don’t want. Through law of attraction we attract into our lives what we think about the most. So if we focus on the things that we want less of we will attract more of the same. Lynn teaches us that if we turn this around and think of what we want more of, like more money, more love, and then this is what we will attract.
A very interesting read that if you use the techniques could make a huge difference in your life.

It was the morning of 28th may 1996 and 12 year old Sabine Dardenne was riding her treasured bike to school, some mornings she would meet her friend half way and they would ride to school together, but this morning her friend must have got a lift with her mum, so Sabine carried on alone. On the particular bit of road Sabine would cycle in the middle until she heard a car and she would move to the side, as she did this on the 28th may, a dirty looking camper van pulled up at the side of her, the door flew open , a man grabbed her and dragged her into the van. Sabine was scared to death, they set off with her in the van, they was trying to make her take some kind of tablets but she wouldn’t she demanded they tell her what was happening but they just kept driving.
They eventually stopped and took Sabine into an old house, where they would hold her prisoner whilst doing terrible things to her.
Sabine wrote this book to make everyone understand what happened to her, so people would stop asking her questions and let her get on with her life.

This book is told very cleverly through the voices of its many characters that all speak in the first person. The story is all about chance encounters, it tells the story of a group of people whose lives each cross each other’s through chance meetings. I would definitely recommend to people of any age and any gender.
Family, friends and workmates. The man who you sell you your newspaper or the woman you sit next to on the bus. Everyone that we meet, and those that we don’t quite meet all have some impact on the way our day pans out.
Small World is about of a group of women and men, who live and work in the city, and are all, connected through work, love or friendship, or just by being near one and other. There is the housewife who can cope with everything, a stressed out working mother, a nanny, a long-suffering journalist, a stand-up comic, a psychotic policeman an Indian waiter who is dreaming of fame, and a grieving shop assistant, they all speak about their innermost thoughts, what they fear and their dreams and desires . An excellent book which I really enjoyed reading, gets you thinking.
