Bruno is a nine year old boy growing up in Berlin during world war two. He is oblivious to all the wrong doings of his father who is a Nazi leader. When his father tells him that there moving from their family home were all his friends are Bruno is very upset. He spends his first few weeks bored and lonely until one day he discovers the concentration camp which is a short walk from their new house. Bruno has no idea what goes on behind the big wire fence, on his adventures he meets a small boy named Shmuel who lives behind the fence. Bruno builds a close friendship with Shmuel taking him food and playing games over the fence with him. Bruno notices that Shmuel and all the other people that live behind the fence wear striped blue pyjamas. Bruno is very curious as to what kind of life Shmuel and all the others lead and it’s his curiosity that leads him to the other side.
The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas is told through the eyes of a little boy whose father is a Nazi. It’s an excellent read that had me in tears. Once I’d read the book I had to watch the film which was as good if not better than the book. It’s a very memorable story. I would recommend to people of all ages.

This book is all about saying goodbye. A mother (Barbara) who dies of cancer writes a book for her four daughters whilst she’s sick. Barbara writes each daughter a letter, addressing everything she wants her daughters to know but never told them. She expresses all her hopes, fears, dreams and secrets she couldn’t always voice. The letters touch the girls in many different ways, as they are all so very different from each other. The words unlock emotions and passions to set them on their own journeys of discovery through life.
The book is very emotional. All about a mother who dies of cancer and writes a book while she’s sick for her daughters to read after her death. It’s all about their lives after her she’s passed away and how their struggles somehow bring them all closer together.
This book had me crying my eyes out, it’s a definite tear jerker and a very emotional read, I would recommend to all mothers and daughters who enjoy a tearful touching book. It definitely makes you think about what you’ve got and the simple things that we all take for granted. An excellent read that I will pass on to a friend.

This is a really good introduction to juicing and there are some brilliant recipes, using ingredients you’d never imagine putting together. Most of them taste amazing. This book gets to the point, making you feel like you really want achieve your goal and you have no excuses. This cookbook by Jamie Oliver is filled with authentic easy to follow recipes which he learnt as he travelled all over Italy on a road trip. The book is full of beautiful photographs by Chris Terry and David Loftus. The recipe instructions are simple to follow and easy to understand. The Chapters are headed by Jamie’s thoughts about how Italian cooks treat their ingredients.
Many of the recipes are quite familiar if you’re used to eating in Italian restaurants. Chicken Hunter Style, or Pollo alla Cacciatora red wine instead of white, Jamie guarantees, as always, to be better than the prepared stuff you can buy in the local supermarket.
The Italian name of each recipe is displayed on the page with the English translation directly underneath it.
Jamie’s Italy cookbook is full of recipes and ideas that you will love to cook and will enjoy eating.
If you’re a Jamie Oliver fan or if you simply love to cook you will love this Italian cookbook, it’s full of delicious recipes that all your family will enjoy. It’s a lovely cookbook that is beautifully illustrated and unlike a lot of cookbooks it is quite easy to follow ,I was amazed at the results I got , I never knew I could cook so well!
