On her return she is very dissapointed to find out that she has been deomoted, her new role is to cover the ‘and finally’ news stories which are on at the end of the news. Even more shocking fr Jo is that her new boss is non other than her ex boyfriend who had left her and her son Alfie after hi 1st birthday.
Her ex boyfriend,Richard, is now going out with the news station’s top celebrity weather girl. Jo feels humiliated, unsure if she can ever trust a man again, she then meets Dan who sculpts baloons and lives on a canal boat, the complete opposite to Richard
Jo’s son Alfie loves Dan, he is facinated by him so is Jo, but Dan is holding onto a childhood secret. Jo is not sure if she risk another unhappy ending again. Many things have to go wrong before it can all go right for Jo and Alfie. A lovely book which is quite moving.
